Visiting Thailand Once More in Love

We back in Bangkok now. I know. Had I not just left? I mean, I was only residing in Taipei. Things may change a lot and very rapidly. Despite my desire to be productive, I have been here for two weeks and it hasn’t occurred yet. I made the mistake of reserving a room directly next to Cheap Charlie’s, the greatest and most well-liked hangout in Bangkok. Right across the street, at Suk 11, I’ve been residing. This is the hostel to stay at if you’re searching for a cheap, convenient, and hygienic place to stay in Bangkok. One of the best hotels I’ve ever been to It is constructed of teak wood, and there are several plants all around, giving the area a pleasant, natural atmosphere in a metropolis that lacks any sense of the natural world.

My pals would regularly lure me in for a drink when I got home from dinner because it’s so close to my favorite drinking establishment. The pub has been packed every night since there have been three holidays in Thailand in the past two weeks, which has caused many people to take time off. The going-away party last night simply made things more crazy. One drink quickly leads to three or four, and by the time 4 a.m. rolls around, I’m back in bed.

Taiwan lacks a lot of the amenities I enjoy in Asian locales, including a vibrant culture, pirated films, tasty, affordable street cuisine. And an abundance of tropical islands to explore. This week alone, I watched roughly ten movies. Every opportunity I get, I’ve been consuming Thai street cuisine. Particularly the pork noodle soup that is only available in the nation’s street vendors, I’ve truly missed it. My go-to lunch is fresh noodles with delicious pork since it’s simple, inexpensive, and satisfying. I’ve been catching up with old friends and eating at some of my favourite eateries.

I’ve come to understand how much I adore Bangkok and how I’ll never be able to totally leave. I had a sense of being at home the moment I walked off the plane. It was all very calming and exhilarating, despite the chaos, odors, noise, crowds, traffic, pollution, and street food.

For all of us, Bangkok is like that. You become enmeshed in it and can never truly escape. You can run away for a little while, but you always come back. This city has a peculiarly alluring quality. Whatever the cause—which may be air pollution—you are unable to go. Since she departed a year ago, my buddy Natalie has visited us roughly seven times.

There are many places you may live in, fall in love with, and return to visit, but I believe that people visit Bangkok more frequently. In fact, I have a similar sentiment for Thailand in general. Everyone I meet who has visited here is eager to return, and they frequently do. You are just sucked into this metropolis.

If you remain in Bangkok long enough, it’s possible to get pulled into a vortex and never come out again. Anyone I know who has lived here for more than two or three years promises to stay forever. They simply cannot live anywhere else. Once you get used to it, there is nowhere else that compares to the city’s distinct madness.

Countdown Timer

I put an end to the chapter on long-term residence in Bangkok in January. I’ve been here for a while now, yet I still feel disoriented and dragged into that vortex. But returning here feels both like coming home and like inhaling something potent. I also can’t be away from my addiction for too long, like any good addict. Anything longer than a few months causes me to experience severe withdrawal.

Even though returning here is typically terrible for my liver, it gives me energy. And after this trip, I understood that Bangkok will always have a hold on me, no matter how far I travel, where I go, or how hard I attempt to flee. I’ll come back to it later to get my
